Westbrook Senior Property Tax Assistance Program

Overview

The Westbrook Senior Property Tax Assistance Program provides tax relief to low-income seniors who have lived in the City of Westbrook for at least 10 years. Both Homeowners and Renters can qualify. Applicants must be at least 65 years of age and have received the Maine Property Tax Fairness Credit in the tax year prior to the application. The FY26 application period for the City of Westbrook program begins on July 1, 2025, and ends on June 1, 2026. Application instructions are below:

Instructions

To apply for Westbrook's Senior Property Tax Assistance Program, follow the steps provided below: 

  1. Complete the Westbrook Senior Property Tax Assistance Program Application

  2. Attach a signed copy of your 2024 Form 1040ME, including Schedule PTFC

    (Property Tax Fairness Credit) and supporting documentation of rebate receipt. 

  3. Complete form W-9 (available at City Hall or online)

  4. Return the application to: City of Westbrook. Attn: Tax Collector, 2 York St., Westbrook, ME 04092 by June 1, 2026


In order to participate in Westbrook’s program: 

  1. You must complete a new application each year within the enrollment period.
  2. You must not be delinquent on your property taxes.
