What does an Election Worker do?

Election workers provide staffing for the City of Westbrook throughout the election cycle. The includes prior to election day, and election day itself. There are a variety of job duties, all of which are crucial to running a smooth election process. Some of those duties include: greeters, deputy registrars, and election clerks.  Election workers may also assist with absentee processing prior to election day and/or provide assistance during absentee voting at City Hall. 

Is this a paid position?

Yes, all of our election workers are eligible to be paid for the work they conduct for the City of Westbrook. Standard forms, including the I-9, W-4 (state), W-4 (federal), and background check consent form, will need to be filled out prior to starting. 

What experience is needed?

None! The City Clerk's office will equip you with all the tools you will need to be successful in this role.  We require all election workers to attend a training before EACH election to ensure all of our staff is receiving the most up-to-date information.
